Where We Are
1887 Buffalo Run, Thaxton, VA 24174
Put the address in your phone's map app. Buffalo Run is a country road, so drive slow. Please park where shown and stay in the shop area unless you've booked a tour. This is a working farm with animals.
What We Sell (and What It Costs)
Pork
We raise Meishan pigs, a heritage breed the Livestock Conservancy lists as Threatened.
- Pork chops: $9.50 a pound
Supplies change. Call before you come if you need a certain amount.
Quail and Quail Eggs
We raise Jumbo White Coturnix quail.
- Whole quail: $9.50 a bird
- Fresh quail eggs: $4 a dozen
- Quail breeder kits (1 male + 3 females): $55
Quail eggs are hard to find around here. Most folks we meet were buying them at an Asian grocery or online.
Farm Fresh Eggs
Chicken eggs from our hens, $6 a dozen.
Farm Pickles
Small-batch pickles made in our kitchen. We have dill spears, chef-cut dill, Grandma Caver's sweet pickles, Wicked Pickles (sweet heat chips), tavern onions, savory garlic, and pickled garden mix. 8-ounce jars are $10.
More from the Farm
We also make whipped tallow balm ($18), hand-poured candles and wax melts, and we sell registered Kunekune and Meishan breeding pigs. See our livestock page for what's available.

Why Buy from a Farm Store?
- You know where it came from. You can visit the farm and meet the family.
- Your money stays local. Every dollar helps keep a small Bedford County farm going.
- Heritage breeds. Buying Meishan pork helps keep a Threatened breed alive. Farms only raise what people buy.
